For our February 2012 meeting, we had 30 sisters in attendance! Heidi Keister, Mary Ann Hoggan, Sharon Hutchinson and Dolores Richey were our guest presenters and did a fabulous job inspiring us all to make Family Home Evening a more consistent event in our homes. Ideas ranged from a Family Home Evening Box, having newly marrieds join up for dinner and a spiritual message, making sure you are consistent and have FUN, and not forgetting to have FHE even when your kids have left your home! Thanks to everyone who came and traded cookies at our great cookie exchange!
JANUARY 2012 MEETING: January 24, 2011
We had around 35 sisters in attendance at our meeting last night, despite chilly temps and pouring rain! 8 new sisters in our ward presented things about themselves to help us get to know them. We had so much fun learning about their passions and dreams. Who knew we had ice climbers, fitness enthusiasts, writers, world travelers, archaeologists, and extremely crafty girls among us? We followed up a fun evening with brownies and ice cream which couldn't have been a better ending.
DECEMBER 2011 MEETING
Thanks to all of the sisters for joining us for our annual ornament exchange! We had over 50 sisters in attendance and the Relief Society room was packed full and we loved it. After a beautiful slideshow of Christ, we joined in our adventurous exchanging of ornaments which always results in lots of laughter, a little bit of mischievousness, but always TONS of fun!
OCTOBER 2011 MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:
In case you missed October's Weekday Meeting themed “Fall into Traditions," here are some traditions that were presented:
• Create traditions centered on service.
• Have kids draw/write a book and have it printed/bound.
• Create traditions specific to each grandchild.
• Take kids/teens on dates or trips to the temple.
• Take pictures of your kids at the same ages.
• Create a family motto. Here is an example:
We are positive participators.
We can see the best in each other.
We will be of good cheer.
(This one was based on family weaknesses.)
